The numerous challenges in creating and managing Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) and in particular Clinical Case Reports (CCRs) prevents clinical teams from disseminating such significant clinical information resources. This eliminates such valuable knowledge and experience gained through clinical evidence and experiments for educational and research purposes. This proposal attempts to provide and implement a comprehensive solution for creating, storing, and managing CCRs as one of the most crucial Iranian EBM resources. To do so, this project focuses on providing a national guideline to publish local CCRs, and design and develop a specific database for Iranian CCRs to store and retrieve them in Iran steadily and comprehensively. This project will be carried out with mix methods. This proposal, in addition, supports Iranian Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to develop more diverse and accurate reports for clinical teams at local and national levels as valuable educational and research resources. Moreover, this project suggests a semantic and intelligent approach to help clinicians to manage their patients' information with a chronic disease, through the development of high-quality patient/disease registers. After the implementation of the Iranian CCRs database, It is expected to support increasing the status of the clinical teams' productions, publications, storage, and accessibility will be managed and standardized in Iran. Furthermore, Iranian CCRs would be contributing to the more applicability of local EBM records in Iranian patient-care settings. This proposal is built on the research team’s existing project on the development of a prototype of the local CCRs database.
